1973 Williams Match Race

Description: Match Race, Williams, 3/73, mechanical playfield where six horses race with two bagatelles (one for each of the two players.) A preset (adjustable) time is allowed for each player to plunge in their bagatelle, trying to get their horses across the finish line first. First player controls horse 1,3,5 and second player controls horses 2,4,6. What is interesting about Match Race is it gives a pinball style score. This makes it in theory, more of a skill game (though as a bagatelle, it's really 95% luck). Williams Match Race is a low production game with just a handful of units made. It was not successful at test locations, so the game never went into full production. A bit similar to Chicago Coin's Turf Club and Auto Race.
