Description: Hockey Champ, Chicago Coin, 11/68, two players. Of all the EM coin op hockey games, this is probably the best variant. Instead of motorized goalies which the player has limited control, this game is essentially a head-to-head pinball machine. Each player has right and left flipper buttons, that flip their players (4 players plus a goalie), which allows great control (both offense and defense.) The flippers (players) are single wound 23-550 impulse style flipper coils, but the game essentially plays like say the 1983 Williams Joust head-to-head pinball machine. A very unique EM arcade game. Note the game came with several different flipper button configurations. The most common is two small buttons for each player. But this game was also made with two larger buttons, or even a Galaga-style left/right metal joystick. Note the game flyer below shows the large button format. Also the game has three periods, with a buzzer sounding at the end of the third period. Total game time is adjustable from 2 minutes to 5 mintues. There is also a large #81 red light bulb above each goal and a bell to signify a scored goal. Maximum goals per side are 19 (that's all the steppers will allow.) There is a motor that alternates center ice face-off (ball) delivery on either the red or blue teams' side of the center red line. This keeps the player fair. Also the game can only be played as a two player game. That is its only drawback. If you have a CCM Hockey Champ for sale, please contact cfh@provide.net
