Williams X-Factor Slot Machine Dotmation

Description: Williams X Factor Dotmations Slot Machine, WMS, 1996. One of the first dotmation machines by williams. X Factor slot machine has a 192x64 dot matrix display (DMD) in addition to the three spinning reels. The DMD is split into sections by creative silkscreening of the DMD glass. The right sections has some pretty cool animations including flying pigs, ghosts, aliens, hairy monsters, fish, etc. The object of the game is to raise the X factor to 8x, giving maximum payout on wins. When the game gets to 8x, it's ready to payout big (because all wins are multiplied by eight). Because of this, a good slot machine detective would look for X-Factor slot machines at casinos that were at "8x", and play those. This made Xfactor a "vulture" or "rapable" slot machine. Because of this, many casinos pulled the games, as payouts were predictable from a casual on-looker. The other Williams slot machine with a "rapable" feature was Piggy Bankin.

During Max Bet Play, players collect Power Points when the symbol appears in the window. Every 10 Power Points collected increases the X-Factor multiplier. When the X-Factor symbol is part of a winning combination, the player collects the payout times the X-Factor. Note the reels are black with florescent colored symbols. This is important because the reel light is a backlight. Available in a 3 coin By-A-Pay version.
